Smoothies contain both insoluble and soluble fibres and juices contain soluble fibre.

If you want to lower your cholesterol then soluble fibre is best, but if you have digestive problems then you want insoluble fibre.

Many see that juices are better in the aiding of weight loss as pulp adds calories; however smoothies create a slower rate of absorption, meaning that they make you feel fuller for longer. Dieters will then feel fuller for longer with a smoothie.

As juice has less pulp then it can be digested quicker, which means nutrients are absorbed faster. Juices are then better for boosting energy levels and as workout recovery drinks.

Smoothies win on preparation as you just put everything together because you are eating the whole fruit.

Nutrients can break down quickly so you need to consume your smoothie or juice quickly.

Smoothies are cheaper as more produce is needed in order to create the same volume of juice. Smoothies use the entire fruit or veggie so you should go organic in order to avoid pesticides.

Added Ingredients

Smoothies can be bitter so often to make them sweeter; honey or coconut sugar is added. Juices do not have any added ingredients.

Both smoothies and juices are great and can both improve your health, so it is actually up to you which you prefer or switch it up. Some days have a smoothie and other days have a juice.
